2019年に誕生したテキスタイルブランド「ウーラッコ」。第1作目となるアーティストはフィンランドのデザイナー、イェンニ・トゥオミネン。2018年夏にウーラッコのために描きおろしたデザイン”marjat（マルヤ）”、フィンランド語で”ベリー”を意味します。イェンニのサマーコテージを訪れたときのこと、広大な庭にはベリーやハーブ、大きなりんごの木がありました。みんなで森へ行きブルーベリーを摘み、その摘みたてのベリーを使ったベリーパイはとても贅沢な味わい。自然と静けさに囲まれたコテージで過ごすゆっくりと流れる時間、この場所だからこそインスピレーションがわき、イェンニの作品の世界観に繋がっていくのだと感じました。そして、このテキスタイルのアイデアが生まれたのです。

体に優しいコットン生地を使用しています。水性インクとデジタルプリントで環境にも配慮した日本の工場で作っています。生地表面に染料が残っている可能性がある為、色落ちする可能性があります。最初の数回は他の洗濯物と分けて洗ってください。

Jenni Tuominen イェンニ・トゥオミネン
1976年生まれ、フィンランド・ポルヴォー在住。デザイナー、イラストレーター、ヴィジュアルアーティスト。トゥルクアーツアカデミーで美術を学び、ヘルシンキ芸術デザイン大学（現・アアルト大学）でグラフィックデザインを学ぶ。マリメッコのデザインコンペをきっかけに2006年からマリメッコにデザインを提供。2017年にはThe State Prize for Illustrationsを受賞。フィンランドのファッションブランドSamujiでも販売されている陶器オブジェがヘルシンキのクリエイターの中で話題となっている。

The textile brand “Ullakko” was born in 2019.
The first artist is Finnish designer “Jenni Tuominen”.
The design "marjat" , which was drawn for Ullakko in the summer of 2018, means "berry" in Finnish.
When We visited Jenni's summer cottage, the vast garden contained berries, herbs and large apple trees.
Everyone goes to the forest and picks blueberries, and the berry pie made with the freshly picked berries tastes very luxurious.
The slow flowing time in the cottage, surrounded by nature and tranquility, made own feel inspired and connected to the world view of Jenni's work.
And this textile idea was born.
